Glastonbury Festival 2027: Everything We Know So Far
Glastonbury Festival is one of the world’s biggest music and arts festivals. Every year we see enormous amounts of hype and anticipation leading up to an event year.
Here is what is confirmed, what the coming months will bring, and what to plan for.
When Is Glastonbury 2027?
Glastonbury Festival 2027 takes place from Wednesday 23 to Sunday 27 June 2027 at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset. It returns after a fallow year in 2026.
On Wednesday crowds of live entertainment fans head for the Glastonbury gates, filling the camp sites across the afternoon and evening.
The main programme runs from Thursday through to the Pyramid Stage headline act on Sunday night. By Monday, the site clears and Worthy Farm begins its long recovery.
The farm sits just outside the village of Pilton, roughly six miles east of Glastonbury town. It has been home to the festival since Michael Eavis first hosted a music and arts event on the land in 1970.
Since that first event, the world-renowned festival has grown into one of the most attended outdoor events in the world, now drawing over 200,000 people across five days across more than 100 stages and performance spaces.
It takes seeing the landscape in person to absorb Glastonbury’s scale.
Why Was There No Glastonbury in 2026?
Glastonbury took a planned fallow year in 2026, a deliberate rest built into the festival’s long-term calendar.
The fallow year serves a specific purpose by allowing Worthy Farm to recover from the physical impact of hosting a city’s worth of people on farmland.
Hosting a festival the size of Glastonbury takes a toll on the land.
The previous planned fallow year was 2018, before the 2019 edition ran. The 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled separately due to COVID-19, but the fallow year system predates those disruptions and operates independently of them.
Emily Eavis, who now co-runs the festival alongside her father Michael, has spoken about the value of the break, both for the land and for the team behind it.
The break helps the team running it take stock and continue making improvements to Glastonbury. Running the world’s most complex outdoor event every year is not sustainable.
Another impact of the fallow year is that the demand for tickets increases with two years of build-up and anticipation.
Therefore, the 2027 edition is likely to be the most in-demand Glastonbury Festival in years.
When Will the Glastonbury 2027 Lineup Be Announced?
The full Glastonbury 2027 lineup will likely be revealed by spring 2027.
But the announcement process begins well before that, allowing for the festival hype to build over a longer period of time.
Pyramid Stage headliners are frequently confirmed in the autumn or winter preceding the festival, either through official announcements or media reports ahead of them.
The famous full poster, covering the main stages, typically lands in March or April. Acts lower on the bill continue to be confirmed on a rolling basis through to May, just ahead of the event.
Glastonbury’s organising teams have needed to adapt with the rise of social media, and the increased likelihood of leaks, which have unfortunately happened in recent years.
Most headliners are widely discussed before they are formally announced. We have published an article spotlighting who is rumoured to play Glastonbury in 2027.
Emily Eavis occasionally confirms acts directly through her own channels, which has become a unique but reliable source in itself.
How Do Glastonbury 2027 Tickets Work?
Glastonbury operates a registration-based ticketing system. You must register with an approved photograph before you can enter any sale.
Registration is free and open year-round at glastonburyfestivals.co.uk. Without a valid registration number, it is not possible to purchase a ticket regardless of the sale. Each registered person can buy up to six tickets per transaction, but each ticket must be linked to the individual registration of the person attending.
Sales follow a standard structure. A coach and ticket package sale runs first, followed by a general ticket sale.
Both are typically exhausted within minutes – 2027 is likely to be even more competitive. Any returned or unclaimed tickets become available through a resale.

Where Do You Stay at Glastonbury?
Glastonbury offers on-site camping, on-site glamping, and off-site accommodation ranging from boutique farm stays to country house hotels across Somerset.
On-site, the campsite zones surround the festival arena and fill progressively across Wednesday and Thursday.
Standard camping means carrying your own equipment, pitching in a field, and sharing facilities. For more comfort, glamping operators on and near the site offer pre-pitched tents and yurts with beds and added amenities, at a considerably higher price.
For guests who want a genuinely comfortable base, the most considered options sit off-site: boutique properties and private stays within a few miles of Worthy Farm, with transfers to and from the festival arranged. The best of these sell out before the lineup is announced.
For example, we have supported clients with their Glastonbury experience when staying at Pennard Orchard, the original boutique camping for Glastonbury Festival.
