Berlin – A Luxury Guide
As a historical treasure trove, the tumultuous past of Germany’s capital is etched into its modern makeup. Within the context of its past, Berlin symbolises resilience and resurgence and has evolved into one of the most culturally relevant modern metropolises in Europe.
Running alongside the city’s innovative spirit is a cosmopolitan sophistication which comprises an array of luxury accommodations, world-class dining and exclusive entertainment.
Where to stay
Berlin’s thriving arts and vibrant evening scenes culminate in a landscape that’s awash with luxury high-end accommodation options.
Situated in the heart of Berlin, the 5-star historic Hotel Adlon Kempinski overlooks the iconic Brandenburg Gate and comprises 385 elegant rooms and suites. A fixture in Berlin since 1907, guests can indulge in the rejuvenating Adlon Spa and enjoy fine dining options including the two Michelin starred Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer.
For a more contemporary offering, the Ritz-Carlton promises ultimate luxury with a twist of Berlin’s Golden Age. The unique, award-winning spot boasts the highest level of outstanding service, while its elegant wellness facility and exclusive 10th-floor Club Lounge prove immensely popular with the hotel’s esteemed guests.
What to do and where to eat
Berlin’s fine dining scene screams culinary excellence and innovation, spanning extravagant Michelin-starred institutions to hidden gems in charming neighbourhoods. Diners can enjoy a diverse range of options from contemporary spins on classic German cuisine to international classics which reflect the city’s diverse nature.
We especially love the Asian-fused Restaurant Tim Raue, as seen on the 50 Best Restaurants list. A Berlin local, Raue set up shop in 2010 close to the neighbourhood in which he grew up, ensuring the establishment’s offering remains true to its location and roots. Another firm favourite of ours is the 3 Michelin-starred Rutz, promising a “journey” in cuisine courtesy of iconic chef Marco Muller’s “Inspiration” tasting menu.
As previously stated, Berlin has history and culture coursing through its streets. Iconic landscapes include the Berlin Wall, Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, the Charlottenburg Palace and the Holocaust Memorial. As bespoke travel specialists, we can engage local experts to provide the best on-the-ground experience possible for our valued clients.
